Week of Gamestop

Last Saturday I was paid for my repair services of a PowerMac G4 at a local buisiness. Currently having nothing better to spend my money on, I raced to GameStop on Monday and bought myself a copy of Super Smash Bros. Brawl(SSBB); used of course, and while I was there I got myself a GameStop edge card, $15 that has already paid itself off.

So after taking my shiny, basically brand new, copy of SSBB home, and playing it alone for 10 hours, I decided I'd call it a night and go to bed. So, for the next two days I had my friend David over, and we went onto beating the single player campaign, unlocked all the characters except 3, then proceeded to mop the floor with one another.

Thursday I got a wild hair up my ass, and decided to run to GameStop again with my friend David so we could trade in some old games and get a new one. After everything was said and done, we had a total of $52 from our trade-ins, which we used to buy Super Mario Galaxy (used). But on the way to the register, I glanced upon it, a used copy of the original Metroid Prime, for a whopping $7!

Amazing that someone would get rid of that little gem, it really was the best Metroid game to date, but their loss. I snatched it up without a second thought, bought a cheap $3 gamecube memory card, and here I am, two days later, still absorbed in it.

I find it somewhat funny that I'm enjoying a old GameCube game more than those shiny (basically) new copies of SSBB and Mario Galaxy. I guess there's something to be said for the classics.

Also, in just under a week, that $15 gamestop edge card has already paid itself off, $5 off SSBB, $5 off Mario Galaxy, and $5 extra on our trade-ins, now it's time to start actually saving money.
