Wii Scratching my Games, WTF?!

So, all of my wii games have these lovely circular scratches around the edges. These are perfectly circular, and they go right along with the data track on the disc, so they are obviously being made by the console. My Metroid Prime 3 disc would no longer read, and having beat I decided "ah, the hell, I'll just sell it". Well, getting only $12 at gamestop for it was bad enough, but realizing that my Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess is also not reading properly made me even more suspicious. After googling, it appears the Wii scratches discs when it's in the vertical posistion (and they give you such a nice stand TO put it up in vertical posistion)!

I called up NoA support today, and I have shipping labels for my wii now, they'll likely look at and not do anything about the drive, but at least my gamecube memory card port should be fixed. But I have no guarantee that they'll replace my games, THAT THEIR CONSOLE DESTROYED. I love my Wii, and Nintendo's customer support is simply amazing, but this just pisses me off! I am *NOT* going to buy two games over again because my Wii is defective and ruined them, that's absolute bullshit! My wii will be in horizontal posistion from now on, and yours should too.
