Oi, well today I relearned my lesson: don't neglect your backups, even for two weeks. Just booted windows to see it shows nothing on my screen, it refused to start, and the "Windows Startup Repair" kept trying to 'rollback' a corrupt registry (hooray for stupid design decisions that they STILL haven't fixed!) So, my latest backup is two weeks old (that's not so bad, except when you're missing 40-50GB of data...), and it's going to be a lot of fun getting it all back...

I feel the urge to say something about how I've NEVER had massive filesystem corruption on Linux(well, except from using the alpha kernel with that XFS bug, but I'm talking about production systems here) like this. Sure, maybe I'll lose a file or two when I do a hard shutdown because something locked up, but I've never had my system refuse to start to the point that I had to preform a full backup restore instead of just pulling a file or two out of the archive.
